by David Loft posted June 21st 2017

File Under Gaming

Another great E3 in the books and so many game announcements to go through. It took some time as there were a lot of games that could have made the list, but I narrowed it down to my top 5 games of E3 2017. So here it is, starting with number 5...

Nintendo Switch E3 2017 Predictions

by David Loft posted June 11th 2017

File Under Gaming

Well it's that time of year again, E3 is upon us. Before the big reveal on Tuesday, I wanted to get my predictions down on paper, as it were. I usually like to do predictions for more than just Nintedo, but with the Switch, Nintendo has dominated my gaming time for the past few months. Its been wonderful having a Nintedo home console for the first time since the N64. But as a result of this I have not paid much attention to PC or PS4 gaming, so just Nintendo predictions this year, and to start, Super Mario Odyssey...

Nintendo Switch's Voice Chat Compromise

by David Loft posted June 9th 2017

I wasn't planning on writing about this, but I felt like I had to as no one has mentioned this and it has bothered me. And not by the Video Chat headset and the dongle that goes with it, but the reaction from the community...

I just spent the weekend with the Arms Global Testpunch on the Nintedo Switch and I wanted to share my experience with the controls, gameplay and the different modes of play. So let get into it, first up, controls...

Arms Direct Impressions

by David Loft posted May 25th 2017

File Under Gaming

Nintendo just had a Direct for Arms, a game releasing on the Nintendo Switch on June 16th, and they finally pulled the cover off of everything we are going to see in the game. A game that has been on my wish list since it was first announced. I know many saw motion controls and immediately checked out. But something about it caught my interest enough to follow it, and after subsequent updates it steadily rose to become one of my most anticipated games for the Switch. This recent Arms Direct continues that trend...

NBA Playgrounds Review

by David Loft posted May 16th 2017

File Under Gaming

Its been more than a year since I have written anything on here, or posted on YouTube for that matter. I plan/hope to change that with at least something to write about or create a video about on a weekly basis. Today I'm hoping to kick that off with a review of NBA Playgrounds for the Nintendo Switch...

Street Fighter 5 - Week Five Update

by David Loft posted April 19th 2016

File Under Gaming

Well I made it to week 5. I'd like to say I'm still going strong but other interest and responsibilities have crept in. I spent a good chunk of the week finishing off my wife's portfolio website, just as she got a new job. I've also had a number of networking issues that have kept me from playing. And lastly, much of the week I have spent obsessively playing Clash Royale. Yes, the mobile game...

Street Fighter 5 - Week Four Update

by David Loft posted April 11th 2016

File Under Gaming

So I'm one month into my journey and up to the three week mark I had been playing daily. That changed this week, although not for lack of interest. I have been updating my wife's portfolio website and its taken quite a bit of free time. And my free time is limited as I work full time and have two young children...

Street Fighter 5 - Week Three Update

So I've had Street Fighter 5 for three weeks now. And I've definitely had my ups and downs. I've been playing a lot of ranked matches this week and have won some, but unfortunately lost most...

Street Fighter 5 - Week Two Update

by David Loft posted March 28th 2016

File Under Gaming

I'm two weeks into my journey and improving everyday. I have spent the majority of my week trying to beat Survival on normal and I just can't do it. I can get to level 26 consistently, than I die at Ryu's hands just about every time. Occasionally I beat him only to die on level 27 against Zangief. I just don't understand why they don't increase the diffulty gradually. It's easy for far too long than the difficulty spikes up, it's starting to frustrate me...

Street Fighter 5 - Week One Update

by David Loft posted March 22nd 2016

File Under Gaming

I'm one week in and I'm starting to make some progress. To this point I have been solely playing training, story mode and survival. I've selected my character, Chun-Li, and I've learned the move set and have begun forming strategies to win. Today I went back online looking for my first win and I finally have it, a win over Zangief. It's a big improvement from my first online match from just 8 days ago, and yes I'm still not very good, and yes it was super cheap at times. But who cares I won!!!

Street Fighter 5 - the Journey Begins

by David Loft posted March 13th 2016

File Under Gaming

I'm new to Street Fighter, really fighting games in general. I've definitely played them, I definitely remember playing them as a young kid in arcades. And I've certainly played them at friends houses. But I wasn't buying them, and I definitely didn't have any interest in improving my skills.

With the release of Street Fighter 5, I thought it was time to get good at a fighting game, to get good at Street Fighter. I clearly have a long way to go and hundreds of hours of playtime before I will be able to call myself good. But I have to start somewhere. So here is my first online match...
